Brevillier Village Housing and Health Care for Elders "When Quality of Life Matters" |
|
|
The Brevillier Village Auxiliary, or the BVA, is the formal name of our volunteer program. The BVA has over 150 active adult and student volunteers! However, we are always looking for new volunteers to join our program.
| Volunteer's Philosophy |
| The purpose of this auxiliary is to interest and involve its members in the work of Brevillier Village, to promote love for and fellowship with residents, to develop an understanding to the Village ministries and to provide funds in support of its ministries. The Brevillier Village Auxiliary is established as a voluntary, not for profit entity. |
| More About the BVA |
| The Brevillier Village Auxiliary (BVA) was
founded in 1984 and established as a volunteer, not for profit entity. By
promoting and involving it's members in the Mission of Brevillier Village, the
volunteers of the Auxiliary provide love for, and fellowship with our residents. The Volunteers of the BVA serve an important role at the Village. Volunteers aid the staff in carrying out our Mission of helping residents maintain their independence for as long as possible by supporting regular activities and providing socialization. Our volunteers are able to choose the projects for which they wish to volunteer. Examples of the many opportunities are:
|
| Student Volunteers and Service Learning |
| Brevillier Village welcomes students ages 10
and up to volunteer during the summer months and throughout the school year.
There are after-school and evening activities that require volunteer support,
and residents love having students come to help with groups and visits. Also, several local high schools and colleges require "service learning". Brevillier Village has been a site for service learning students for many years. For more information about service learning opportunities, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 814-899-8600. |
| Support the BVA |
|
The BVA also supports and funds activities and socialization opportunities for all residents. The BVA volunteers host several fundraising events throughout the year. These events include a Book Sale, Card Party, Strawberry Festival, and an Annual Pledge Drive. Here are a few examples of what the BVA money has been able to provide for the residents of the Village over the last year:
|
| Commitment |
| Whether you give a few hours each day or a few
hours each month, we welcome you because you are committed to helping residents.
All Village volunteers help residents maintain quality of life, whether they
work directly with residents or behind the scenes. These are some of the Volunteer Opportunities at Brevillier Village. If you have a special gift, talent, or skill that is not listed, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Vickie Mottern at 814-899-8600. Your suggestions for enriching the lives of our residents are always welcome! |
