Brevillier Village's Alzheimer's Education Group

With the help of the Alzheimer's Association, Brevillier Village began an Alzheimer's Education Group in September of 2009.  Our group meets the third Monday of every month from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the St. Barnabas Education Room.

The purpose of this group is to educate families about Alzheimer's and the disease process.  Our group is open to the community and is an opportunity for families and friends to ask questions and talk to people who might be in the same situation.

At each meeting we try to educate our members on a different topic related to Alzheimer's.  We have had a pharmacist speak on the different types of Alzheimer related medications, an attorney to discuss Power of Attorney, and we have also had Debbie Wisinski from the Alzheimer's Association.

Over the past year and a half, we have seen our group grow and really help those who have a loved one with Alzheimer's or know someone who does.  We hope our group will continue to grow and educate those who participate.

If you would like to attend our group or know someone who does, please contact Natalie Flaherty at 814-899-8600 extension 246 or Patty Curtin at extension 261.

We look forward to the upcoming months and hope it will be a learning experience for everyone.
